2014 Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival - Sponsored by Grivel

Our sales team was on site representing Grivel at the 18th annual Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival to debut the new Grivel Machine tools, outfit festival attendees with the latest Grivel gear, and support Grivel athletes that were teaching clinics and competing in the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup.

Hitting the U.S. market just weeks before the festival, the new Grivel Machine 3.0 ice tool made its North American debut on the first night of the festival. Festival attendees were able to demo-out the Machine 3.0 as well as the new Tech Machine tool for a day of climbing.

Grivel athletes, Aaron Mulkey and Shingo Ohwaka shared their knowledge and talents during their mixed rock and ice clinics, educating and inspiring the ambitious ice climbers that attended.

During the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup, international Grivel athletes battled it out with other ice climbers from around the world during the speed and lead competitions. Maxim Tomilov, a Grivel athlete from Russia, took home the gold medal in the men’s lead comp and the bronze medal in the men’s speed comp. During the speed comp, Nikolai Kuzovlev, a Grivel athlete from Russia, secured his gold medal when he flew to the top of the wall in just 5.17 seconds.

The Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival promoted an atmosphere of adventure and education. It was easy enough to see that everyone in attendance went home with a rejuvenated passion that will fuel them throughout this winter climbing season.

Enjoy the mountains, have fun, and be safe.
