March 17, 2010 — Liberty Mountain, a leading independent distributor of technical outdoor products and climbing brands in the U.S., has reached an agreement regarding the distribution of Beal ropes and products throughout the United States.

Starting in spring 2010, Liberty Mountain will offer Beal’s line of climbing ropes and other climbing and mountaineering equipment. Since its origin in Vienne, France in 1976, Beal has become one of the world’s premier manufacturers of climbing and industrial ropes.  Beal has been a leader in the introduction of new ideas and innovation to climbing ropes, including recently its Uni-core technology and also PROGRAM feature which makes the rope more supple and flexible on the ends where knots are tied.

Beal is pleased to improve the distribution and availability in the American market.  “We are happy to be working with an experienced, well-known distributor like Liberty Mountain in the United States.  Our Beal ropes have always been very popular in the US, and we are confident that our new cooperation with Liberty Mountain will make it easy for climbers to obtain their favorite rope.” Michel Beal – President, Beal Ropes

Liberty Mountain will have product available for distribution as soon as April 2010 and will show the Beal line at the 2010 Summer Outdoor Retailer show. Please contact your customer service representative for more details or sales@libertymountain.com to set up an account.

Liberty Mountain wants to assure it’s customers that they will continue its strong commitment to Edelweiss and the exclusive United States distribution of Edelweiss ropes.  “Edelweiss will remain a key brand for Liberty Mountain.  We see the opportunity of adding Beal as a way to strengthen our overall rope category by representing two of the top climbing ropes in the Industry.  This will allow accounts nationwide to reduce their time and cost of doing business by consolidating their shipments of quality brands from one vendor.” Rich Morris, Liberty Mountain’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

According to Gary Heward, Liberty’s President, “A key element of Liberty Mountain’s strategy has been to offer a wide selection of the best brands to the US market with a special emphasis on many of the finest brand names from Europe.  Many of the world’s great traditions in climbing, mountaineering, trekking, backcountry skiing, cycling and outdoor recreation in general come from Europe.  Working together with many of the leading outdoor shops, we are making the best, most innovative products easily available to the United States outdoor consumer.  We strongly believe that offering the coolest, cutting edge gear along with many old favorites helps get everyone excited to be more active and become outdoor enthusiasts.”

Liberty Mountain has successfully grown its business by offering a great selection of products, beautiful, easy-to-use catalogs and excellent customer service to outdoor retailers. Dependable same day shipping and high in-stock rates from both its Utah and Pennsylvania warehouses have long been the standard.

Liberty Mountain also exclusively distributes Edelweiss Ropes, Grivel, Vaude, Pieps, Singing Rock, CaVa, Outdoor Designs, and other technical outdoor sport brands to many of the finest shops throughout the U.S.
