Governor Stable is one of the Mid Atlantic's premier bouldering hotspots that is located in central Pennsylvania. Easily accessible from the metro areas of NYC, Washington D.C, and Philadelphia, Governor's plays host to climbers from up and down the eastern seaboard. Governor Stable is only open for climbing from January 1 to August 31 each year. Climbers make the annual pilgrimage to the Stable for some of the best bouldering had in the region. Riddled with classic lines ranging from V1 to V13, it truly is a paradise for every level of climber.

Joe Reardon, Paul Chrastina, and I paid homage on Saturday as weather finally broke for Spring to appear. With a camera in hand, we began to throw down routes. The morning was spent warming up on V1s and some classic, yet fun V3s such as the five-star Casablanca. The Up Stream area provided Joe with a chance to finally send a crimpy V5 known as Karmic Power. Previously, Karmic Power's crimpy and painful holds shut down any attempt, but this time the route succumbed and gave way for a quick top out.

The afternoon provided us with dynos hidden inside caves and the classic five-star Herr Left V5 that Joe Reardon and I quickly sent with high steps and finger strength. Paul Chrastina worked the formidable slabby Pyramid Boulder known for its lack of footholds and small vertical crimps. This highball is sketchy at best. One loose foot sends the climber sliding. Once reaching the top, the down climb may be considered more difficult than the route itself!
