Recently, three Liberty Mountain representatives, including Liberty Mountain’s president, Gary Heward, sales manager, Peter McConkie and sales rep, Carl Pelleter, packed up and traveled to Langenargen, Germany for Vaude’s International Sales Meeting.
The exclusive distributor of Vaude in the United States, Liberty Mountain continually reviews it's product offerings to ensure that we are bring you the best products possible. We currently offer a wide variety of Vaude mountaineering packs, climbing packs, trekking and trail packs, family packs, child carriers, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and tents.
An impressive gathering of Vaude distributors from all over the world, we were able to meet with the owners and product development staff of Vaude, review the new products being unveiled for next season, visit the production and testing facilities, and learn more about the measures that Vaude is taking to become Europe’s most sustainable outdoor brand.

In the comming months and years, Vaude’s mantra of “where performance meets ecology” will become more and more apparent. In addition to performance, sustainability is a major factor in Vaude’s plan. GREEN SHAPE, a term that Vaude uses to describe a product that is composed of 90% sustainable materials (organic cotton, recycled polyester or ployamide, Tencel and hemp) is produced in a manner that conforms to the strict Bluesign standards. What is really impressive is that almost 45% of the entire Vaude Collection for the Summer of 2012 is considered GREEN SHAPE. Vaude’s GREEN SHAPE goal is to increase this number to 80% by the year 2015.
In addition to 3 days of meetings, we were also able to get out and get some product testing done at some of the nearby crags, as well as "testing" the local cuisine. Not a bad way to get to know our partners at Vaude.
