Our sales team was on site representing Grivel at the 18th annual Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival to debut the new Grivel Machine tools, outfit festival attendees with the latest Grivel gear, and support Grivel athletes that were teaching clinics and competing in the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup.

2014 Idaho Mountain Festival

The granite domes of the City of Rocks National Reserve and Castle Rocks State Park summon climbers like the mythical Shangri-La beckons adventurers. The unique formations with crisp patina edges, splitter and varying cracks, and lines from 5.14 to 5.1 can leave any tradster, bolt-clipper, and pebble-wrestler in a climbing-induced coma. Overshadowed by the better known and ever-popular City of Rocks, Castle Rocks remains a destination less frequented and saved for the “next time we visit the City.”

One Giant Climbing Party - Idaho Mountain Festival

There we were, kicking it with over 250 people at Castle Rock State Park. Hundreds of tents lay scattered across the grass while the gorgeous granite domes loomed over us from behind. In the morning we were fed and educated. During the day we climbed. In the evenings we were fed and entertained, only to repeat the pattern the next day.

 

Event: Portland Alpine Fest

Grivel is the presenting sponsor of the Portland Alpine Fest. The Portland Alpine Fest is a weeklong series of events that celebrates Northwest mountain culture. The week starts on Monday, November 11th with a Veterans Day celebration, continues daily with mountain-centric films and events and culminating the following weekend with Mazamas Annual Celebration and the Portland Ice Festival Competition.

Event: Bozeman Ice Festival

At the 2013 Bozeman Ice Festival, Grivel will be hooking everyone up with beer and demo gear.

The Bozeman Ice Festival is dedicated to promoting and protecting the world-class ice climbing in Hyalite Canyon. The event draws professional athletes and participants from across the globe for a myriad of clinics, demos of the latest and greatest gear, inspiring slide shows and evening entertainment, and camaraderie.

The Bozeman Ice Festival (BIF) mission is to promote the sport of ice climbing to people of all ages and abilities, to educate ice climbers about necessary skills and safe techniques, and introduce climbers to cutting edge clothing and equipment. Proceeds from the Bozeman Ice Festival are put directly toward the Friends of Hyalite, a 501(c)3 organization, to support winter access into Hyalite Canyon for ice climbing.

We hope to see you at the Bozeman Ice Festival to experience the inaugural UIAA Open North American Championships as well as our world famous nightly programs and Hyalite Canyon clinics.

The Ouray Ice Festival, held each year in January in Ouray, CO, is an eclectic gathering of ice climbers, gear manufacturers, and ice climbing enthusiasts. This annual gathering is attended by ice climbers from around the world, as well as industry sponsors, inspiring speakers, and the world’s top exhibition climbers.

Event: AAI Rock Rescue and Avalanche Awareness Seminars

In our efforts to support the outdoor industry and local communities, as well as to celebrate International Mountain Day, we have joined forces with the American Alpine Institute and the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center. The AAI is conducting Rock Rescue and Avalanche Awareness Seminars on December 1 in Bellingham, WA and on December 8 in Everett, WA. These seminars, along with killer after-parties, will raise funds for the NWAC.
